Welcome to my little corner of the internet!
My name is Brittany, I’m a vegan pastry chef & freelance model in San Diego. When I’m not in the kitchen or posting photos of my cat on Instagram, you can find me playing video games (very badly) on Twitch, in the tattoo shop, hiking, dyeing my hair, or petting an animal somewhere.
I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena and have been obsessed with pastry and confections ever since. I went vegan in 2013 (I was vegetarian for 4 years before that) and am still constantly excited by the challenge of creating good-tasting, flavorful food that doesn’t taste… well, vegan.
My real life is full of smoothies, big bowls of kale, quinoa, and fruit salads for lunch. My blog is full of the over-the-top, indulgent, decadent food that vegans (and non-vegans!) want to eat. The recipes may not always be the healthiest, but they are always ridiculously delicious!
In addition to recipes, I also share travel diaries, restaurant reviews, DIYs, and vlogs. This blog is my creative outlet, a place where I can be unapologetically myself and share bits of my real life. I hope you enjoy!

FAQs (yes, I am this annoying):
Q: Why is your name Panthers & Peonies?
A: It just seems to tie in with my life. My boyfriend loves Japanese tattooing & I always love when he paints panthers and, you guessed it, peonies. My future tattoo plans also include getting my back done with panthers & peonies… sorry Mom.
Q: Will you write about something specific?
A: Of course! If you want me to write about something specific, please let me know! You can comment on any of my posts or send me a message/email through my contact page.
Q: Why don’t you have a Facebook page?
A: I’m just going to be honest, I really don’t like Facebook. You are more than welcome to share my recipes or posts on Facebook (please let me know if you do!), but I will probably never have one.
Q: What’s the deal with your cat and why are people obsessed with her?
A: Her name is Pablo Picatso (Cassie for short), and she’s a tortoiseshell cat who was rescued from an incredibly abusive owner shortly before I adopted her. Everyone loves her because she’s the greatest thing in the world, and also she’s got four faces.
